Estalou a revolta contra a Ocupação Francesa. O
país está num reboliço. Em vários pontos
do País criaram-se milícias de voluntários. Um voluntário algarvio procura a
sombra de um espigueiro, numa breve paragem da coluna. Uma moçoila passa à
frente dele, vindo da fonte. O cansaço da marcha desvanece-se de repente, ao
ver semelhante criatura…
A moçoila, sem nunca olhar
directamente para o algarvio, ganhou animação no andar, as socas estalando sob
os calcanhares.
Ao fundo o galaróz esgravata o chão para
impressionar a fêmea.
A revolution broke against the French Occupation.
The country is boiling. Throughout the country militia are organized. A
volunteer form Algarve finds himself in the Northern regions of Portugal. It is
hot; he seeks for a refreshing shade during a short halt of the column. A country
girl passes by, coming from the fountain. The tiredness of the soldier vanishes
looking at the girl…
The country girl without ever looking, her hips
got a sway, the wooden shoes clack-tic-clack.
At the end of the courtyard a rooster tries to
catch the hen’s attention by scratching the ground for worms.
