Reforço da base para manter a forma; o buraco é para passar os fios da iluminação com um LED

Base reinforcement; the hole is to let pass the wiring of lighting with a LED.

Abri uma janela adicional porque o volume me pareceu demasiado “sólido” 

I opened na extra window as the volume looked too solid to me.

 

 

 A janela existente, impressa no modelo, foi aberta, detalhei-a com peças de outros modelos e colei um pedaço de plástico transparente que tornei opalino com cola ciano. Um catavento da Scalelink foi adicionado.

 The existent window, printed in the model,  was cut open and I detailed it with parts from other models and a piece of transparent plastic I treated with cyano so it won’t be possible to see the inside. I added a PE weathervane from  Scalelink

 A rocha foi construida com um “miolo” em espuma de poliuretanos que depois foi cortada com arame quente até chegar à forma desejada / the core of the rock was built with poliurethane foam trimmed to the desired shape with a hot wire.  

O revestimento da espuma que forma a face da richa foi construida com Das Pronto. Para manter o peso aceitável, laminei o Das Pronto num tabuleiro que cosntruí há uns anos. A depressão ao meio tem uma altura de 2mm o que me permite manipular o das Pronto como se fosse massa de pizza.

The “skin” of the rock was made with modelling clay Das Pronto. To keep it light I laminated the clay on a tray I built years ago. The middle groove is 2mm deep, a thickness that allows the clay to be manipulated as pizza dough.

 

 

 

 

 

A coloração da rocha foi feita com washes e de seguida com o sistema das “pintas de leopardo”, cuja explicação se encontra num tutorial da Woodland Scenics. Consiste na aplicação aleatória de manchas de cor com uma esponja, usando pastel em pó diluido em água.

The rock colouring is done according what Woodland Scenics call in one of their tutorials “the leopard spots“; simply randomly applying pastel powder dilutedin water with sponges.

A vegetação é um produto da Noch com um aparencia muito realista.

The weeds are a Noch product that give a very realistic touch

Visible in this photo the extra detailing I’ve done to the model.

Printed extra sets of roofs and laminated to give volume.

Na parte de trás da rocha ficou uma caixa para a passagem dos fios para a iluminação da torre.

On the back of the rock there’s a hollow to let pass the wires for the ilumination.

A “tela” foi construida com K-Line e cartão grosso; tudo selado com cola de madeira para selar.

The “canvas” was built with illustration board and thick card; everything sealed with carpenter’s glue for resistance and to better stand moisture variations.

A fase final da pintura da tela. A primeira parte foi com aerógrafo e máscara que ainda é visível na primeira foto. De seguida apliquei pastel em pó e nalgumas partes usei o pastel directamente, suavizando os traços com os dedos.

The final stage of the painting of the canvas. The first part consisted of airbrush work over a mask still visible on the first photo. Then I applied pastel powder and enhanced here and there with the pastel chalk directly, smoothing the imprint with my fingers.
